Quiet Lights Privacy Policy

Quiet Lights is an offline puzzle game provided by Shankproof. This policy applies to the Android app with package name dev.shankproof.quietlights.
Overview
Quiet Lights works without an account, sign-in, advertising, or a developer-operated backend service. Shankproof does not collect or receive your gameplay data through the app. The app does not include advertising, analytics, tracking, or third-party crash-reporting SDKs.
Information Stored on Your Device
Quiet Lights stores the following information in its private app storage:
- Your current puzzle and the moves needed to restore its board and undo history.
- Which puzzles you have completed.
- Your haptic feedback preference.
This information is used to resume your game, show completed puzzles, support undo, and remember your settings. It is not sent to Shankproof or used for advertising or profiling.
Personal Information and Permissions
Quiet Lights does not ask you to provide your name, email address, or other personal information to play. It does not request access to your location, contacts, camera, microphone, photos, or advertising identifier. Optional haptic feedback uses your device's vibration support, if available, and does not collect information about you.
Data Sharing and Platform Services
Shankproof does not sell, rent, or share your saved gameplay data with third parties. Quiet Lights does not upload this data to a Shankproof server and does not provide its own cloud synchronization service.
Android may include local app data in system backups or device-to-device transfers, depending on your device, backup provider, and settings. Saved progress and settings may therefore be restored when you reinstall the app or move to another device. Shankproof does not operate or receive those backups. Manage them through your device and backup-provider settings.
Google Play, Android, and your device manufacturer may independently process installation, backup, or diagnostic information under their own terms and privacy settings. This policy describes Quiet Lights and does not replace those providers' policies.
Retention and Deletion
Quiet Lights keeps its local save until it is replaced by further gameplay or removed. To delete all locally saved progress and preferences, clear Quiet Lights' app storage in Android Settings or uninstall the app. There is no account to delete and no Shankproof server copy of your gameplay data.
Clearing app storage or uninstalling does not necessarily delete an existing system backup. Manage or delete backup copies through your backup provider. Previously backed-up data may be restored during a later installation.
Security
Saved progress and preferences use Android's private app storage and the protections provided by your device. Keep your device secure and up to date. Quiet Lights does not transmit gameplay data over the network.
Children's Privacy
The same local-only gameplay practices apply to all players. Quiet Lights does not require personal information from children and does not include advertising or tracking SDKs. If you believe a child has provided personal information to Shankproof through a support message, contact us using the address below.
Contacting Us and Visiting Our Website
If you choose to email us, we receive your email address and any information you include. We use that information to respond to your inquiry and resolve the issue. Please avoid sending sensitive information. You may contact us to request deletion of support correspondence, subject to any applicable legal retention requirements.
If you open the public policy page in a browser, your browser and the website's hosting provider process that website visit separately from the game. The site is hosted on Hashnode; its privacy policy is available at https://hashnode.com/privacy-policy. Viewing the policy text inside Quiet Lights does not require a network connection.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy if the app's data practices change. We will update the effective date and the policy text when changes are made.
